Description:
A water underfloor heating system is only as efficient as the board it sits on. Plain insulation boards insulate well, but they don't help spread heat evenly across the floor — and basic foil-faced panels often don't bond properly with tile adhesive or screed, leading to weak spots and uneven heat output.
This board solves both problems at once. The 300 kPa extruded polystyrene (XPS) core stops heat escaping downward into the subfloor, while the aluminium coating on top takes that heat and spreads it evenly and upward across the whole panel — so you get consistent warmth across the room, not just directly above the pipe runs. The textured surface of the coating also gives tile adhesive and screed something to key into, creating a stronger bond than the smooth plain foil finish used on many other UFH panels.
The top of the board is pre-routed with grooves sized for 16mm pipe, spaced at 150mm gaps, with three straight runs built into the top of each panel for clean, consistent pipe routing. Pipes click securely into place and stay there through installation, screeding, and the lifetime of the system — no clips, no shifting, no wasted time working out spacing yourself.
Once your pipes are laid, you can go straight to your finished floor. Tile or wooden flooring can be laid directly on top of the board, with no need to screed or self-level first — saving you a full step, and the drying time that comes with it, on every installation.
Manufactured from durable XPS and backed by a lifetime warranty, this board is built to hold its insulating and structural performance for the life of your heating system, not just the first few years.

Key Benefits
Key Benefits
- Even heat distribution — the aluminium coating spreads heat across the whole panel, not just above the pipe, for consistent warmth room to room.
- Stronger adhesive bond — the textured aluminium surface keys into tile adhesive and screed better than plain foil-faced panels.
- No screed required — tile or wood flooring can be laid directly on top, saving a full installation step.
- Precision pipe layout — pre-routed grooves for 16mm pipe at 150mm gaps, with three straight runs per panel, remove the guesswork from pipe placement.
- Pipes stay put — the snug groove fit holds pipes securely during installation and for the system's full lifespan.
- Built to last — 300 kPa compressive strength and durable XPS construction, backed by a lifetime warranty.

FAQ's
FAQ's
Q: What makes this different from a plain grooved XPS board?
A: The aluminium coating spreads heat more evenly across the panel and provides a textured surface that bonds more securely with tile adhesive or screed, compared to plain foil-faced boards.
Q: What pipe size and spacing is this board designed for?
A: The board is routed for 16mm pipe with 150mm gaps between grooves, including three straight runs across the top of each panel.
Q: Can I lay tile or wood flooring straight onto the board?
A: Yes. The board is designed so tile or wooden flooring can go directly on top, without needing to screed or self-level first.
Q: How much floor area does one board cover?
A: Each board measures 1200mm x 600mm, covering 0.72m². Divide your total floor area by 0.72 to estimate how many boards you'll need, rounding up for cuts and wastage.
Q: Is this board covered by a warranty?
A: Yes, it comes with a lifetime warranty on the board's construction and insulating performance.

Why Customers Love It
Pair text with an image to focus on your chosen product, collection, or blog post. Add details on availability, style, or even provide a review.
Reliable, well-packaged delivery. Across the wider XPS insulation range, customers consistently mention orders arriving quickly and in good condition — important when boards are heading straight onto a live installation schedule.
Straightforward to install. Reviewers of similar grooved and XPS boards describe them as easy to cut, position, and fit, even for those tackling underfloor heating for the first time.
Confidence in the finish. The added aluminium layer gives installers extra reassurance that heat output — and the bond with tile or screed — will hold up over time, not just on day one.
Trade-price value. Customers regularly note that trade pricing on XPS boards works out cheaper than sourcing similar panels through local suppliers, even for smaller jobs.
