  • Spirit level
  • Waterproofing membrane
  • Tile adhesive
  • Tile grout
  • Tile spacers
  • Trowel
  • Utility knife
  • Screwdriver
  • Screws
  • Drill
  • Sponge

Step 1: Planning and Preparation

  1. Measure the area where the wet room shower tray former will be installed and ensure proper dimensions and alignment with existing plumbing fixtures.
  2. Determine the position of the studs beneath the floor and mark them using a pencil.

Step 2: Preparing the Stud Floor

  1. Ensure the studs are level and securely in place.
  2. Cut the plywood or cement board to fit the dimensions of the shower tray former, leaving a slight gap around the edges for expansion.
  3. Attach the plywood or cement board to the studs using screws, ensuring a secure and level installation.

Step 3: Installing the Wet Room Shower Tray Former

  1. Place the wet room shower tray former on the prepared stud floor, aligning it with the marked position.
  2. Use a level to ensure the tray former is perfectly level in all directions.
  3. Adjust the tray former as needed to achieve a level surface.
  4. Once the tray former is level, mark its position on the stud floor using a pencil.

Step 4: Attaching the Wet Room Shower Tray Former

  1. Lift the shower tray former and apply a layer of construction adhesive onto the stud floor within the marked area.
  2. Lower the shower tray former onto the adhesive, aligning it with the marked position.
  3. Press down firmly on the tray former to ensure it makes good contact with the adhesive.

Step 5: Securing the Wet Room Shower Tray Former

  1. Drill pilot holes through the tray former and into the stud floor.
  2. Secure the tray former to the stud floor using screws, ensuring a secure and stable installation.
  3. Counter-sink the screw heads to ensure they are flush with the surface of the tray former.

Step 6: Waterproofing

  1. Apply a waterproofing membrane over the entire surface of the tray former, extending it up the walls to create a watertight seal.
  2. Smooth out any air bubbles or wrinkles in the membrane using a trowel or sponge.
  3. Pay special attention to corners and edges, ensuring they are properly sealed with the waterproofing membrane.
  4. Allow the waterproofing membrane to dry and cure according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 7: Tiling

  1. Apply a layer of waterproof tile adhesive onto the surface of the tray former using a trowel.
  2. Place the tiles onto the adhesive, using tile spacers to ensure even spacing between tiles.
  3. Ensure the tiles are level and aligned properly.
  4. Allow the adhesive to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  5. Apply tile grout to the tile joints, ensuring proper coverage and smoothing any excess grout with a sponge.
  6. Allow the grout to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 8: Finishing Touches

  1. Clean the tiles and tray former, removing any excess grout or adhesive.
  2. Apply a suitable silicone sealant around the perimeter of the tray
